Laws and Business-A Compendium-Volume 1 & Volume 2
Author: Anup Shah
Indian law is a complex legal framework that covers criminal law, civil law and everything in between. India maintains a hybrid legal system with a mixture of civil, common law and customary or religious law within the legal framework inherited from the colonial era. Various legislations first introduced during the British era are still in effect in modified forms today. It is practically impossible for anybody to keep track of the number of Central and State Acts and the numerous amendments/ordinances.
After the 1st edition way back in 2004 followed by 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions in 2007, 2010 and 2013, BCAS has released this 5th edition which brings out the finer legal distinctions/arguments citing important case laws. What started as a Compendium of 27 Chapters in the 1st Edition has now swelled to 152 Chapters divided into five categories, namely; Real Estate Laws, Civil Laws, Commercial Laws, Succession Laws and Criminal Laws.
The absolute number of laws and its coverage has resulted in this publication to be released in two volumes. We are sure readers will find the 5th revised and updated edition of “Laws and Business – A Compendium” to be a very useful publication.
